Stanley White

Stanley Ruffin White, 82, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.Stanley was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church since March 31, 1947. A Veteran of the USMC, he served in the Korean War. He was in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. Stanley was a member of VFW Post 1289 and American Legion Post 159, The Disabled American Veterans, The Chosin Few. The Marine Corps League and Korean War Veterans Association.Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Grace Coleman White; and sister, Frances Evelyn. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Bonnie White, of Hixson; son, Roger (Teresa) White, of Franklin; daughters, Martha (Don) Fries, of Ooltewah , Angelia (Olin) Harris of Hixson, grandchildren, Rick, Will, Krista, Tyler, Hunter, Hailey; and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Byron (Annette) White, of Arlington, Texas and Sanford (Shirley) White, of Hixson; several nieces and nephews and many friends.The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Nov. 29, at the North Chapel.Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.Pallbearers: Kenny, Dennis, Randy, Gary Waters; Johnny Hughes and Micheal Atchley.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN, 37343.
