Rubystiene Gustus

Rubystiene Anita Williams Gustus departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in a local hospital.She was born Dec. 24, 1938 in Chattanooga to the union of Walter and Louise Williams. She attended grade schools Cartersville, Ga. and Chattanooga, graduating with the Howard Class of '56. She was an employee of National Linen Service for 17 years and later did home based child care for ten years. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board and was a member of the Womens Sunday school class until her health failed.She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Allen; and husband, Rogers Gustus.She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Monica Gustus and Carol (Eldridge) Mathis; sisters, Linda Bonner and Brenda (Herbert) Dallis; brothers, Carlton (Delores) Allen and Raulston Allen; sisters-in-law, Loretta Robinson, Rachel Lindsay, Mary Sue Slaughter, Bernadette Gustus and Gwen Gustu,s of West Palm Beach, Fla.; devoted friend of 50 years, Elizabeth Arnold; faithful caregivers, Robert and Brenda Holloway; faithful neighbors, Jean Young, Ethelyn Carter, Diane Bryant; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The body will lie-in-state today after noon at Taylor Funeral Home.Funeral: Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Carlton Douglas as the eulogist.Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
