David Nelson

David Nelson, 55, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012.He was born and raised in Panama City, Fla., was a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and moved to Chattanooga where he was employed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. David loved to golf and had an incredible passion for music.Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Karen A. Nelson; daughters, Kristen (Ryan) Taylor and Ashley Nelson; granddaughters, Claire and Grace Taylor; parents, Clarence and Anna Nelson; brothers, Howard (Marie) Nelson and Jimmy (Rhonda) Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home with Rev. Al Miller officiating. Burial will follow at New McDonald Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Noon 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 7414 Old Lee Highway.
