Marguerite Sharp

Marguerite Wilma Houston Sharp, 72, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.She was a graduate of Central High school "Class of 58", and the University of Chattanooga, where she obtained a B.A. as well as a M.A. in Education. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, and the singles group at First Centenary UMC. Marguerite also volunteered at the local animal shelter when her health allowed.She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Sharp; as well as by her parents, James William Houston and Marguerite Copeland Houston. Survivors include her daughter Megan Hughes; son, William Hughes (fianc Jordan ONeal); and grandson Xander ONeal. Special thanks to Sandra Hughes, Susie Shimel, Judy Sharpe, and Pastor Neil Brown, as well as to the countless others who have helped Marguerite.Visitation will be in First Centenary United Methodist Church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18.The Rev.
