Lois Watson

Lois D. Watson, 89, of Chattanooga died at home peacefully on Sunday morning on April 14, 2013.She was born in Frankfort Ohio, and moved as a teenager with her family to Peru, Ind., where she graduated from Peru High School as Salutatorian. Subsequently, she attended Ball State Teachers Collage in Muncie, Ind., where she met her future husband who was sent by the U.S. Army for engineering studies. She was a member of Hixson Presbyterian Church where she worked many years with the quilting group. She also helped many times in Vacation Bible School.Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband of 69 years, the Rev. Loren V. Watson; daughter, Judith W. Bowers, of Chattanooga; sons, David R. Watson, of Hartford, Ala., James S. Watson, of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Jean Berryman, of Peru, Ind., Evelyn Langas, of Williamsport, Md.; grandchildren, Greg Watson, of Tucson, Ariz., Jennie Stevens of Nashville, Tom Watson, of Tacoma, Wash.; sister-in-law, Charlotte B. Watson, of Chattanooga.Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating.Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Choices Pregnancy Resources Center, 6263 Vance Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37421 or to Global Outreach, Hixson Presbyterian Church, 1005 Gadd Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
