Lena M. "Bootsie" Bailey, 65, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at her residence.She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Washington Hills and sang in the choir.She was preceded in death by her parents, John Carlisle and Everlena Blanks; husband, John W. Bailey Sr.; brothers, T. L. Woods Sr., Cecil L. Woods Sr.; sister-in-law, Louise Woods.She is survived by her sons, John W. Bailey Jr. and Shawn (Kenessa) Bailey; brother, Bobby (Annette) Woods; sisters, Gennell (Lawrence) McDuffy, Ruthie Carlisle, Frances (Percy) Hollingsworth, Nonie Sturdivant, Gladys Carlisle White, all of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Juanita Grant, of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Valerie Bailey; granddaughters, Kashawna Bailey and Alena Bailey; sister-in-law, Nancy Carol Jackson, Beatrice Woods; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at First Baptist of Washington Hills.Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6 7 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
