Betty Lou Brock Hydas, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2013.A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, Betty was a former employee of Southern Oaks Assisted Living and was of the Primitive Baptist Church faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Odell Brock Sr. and Leah Peters Brock; sisters, Gladys Walker, Beatrice Roberson and Jeanette Simmons; and brothers, Clifford Odell Brock Jr., James Brock and Joseph Brock. She is survived by son, Marvin George Hydas, of Red Bank; three sisters, Edna Ogle, of Rowlett, Texas, Nancy Sawyer, of McDonald, Tenn., and Odessa Owen, of Chattanooga; two brothers, Randy Brock, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Mel Brock, of Nashville; several cousins, nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. today in the Baxter Addition to Anderson Cemetery in Ringgold, Ga., with Elder Wayne Peters, Elder Eddie Flick and Elder Joseph Hayes officiating.The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Samaritan Center in Collegedale.An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold, Ga.
