Jo Ellen "Dinky" Martin, 47, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in Hospice Care Center. She was a 1983 Riverside graduate. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Eula Mae Shepherd; father, William Martin, Jr., and sister, Cathy Shepherd. Survivors include her son, Jarian Nelson; daughter, LaTia Sims; grandchildren, Martavius, Ma'Kiyiah, De'niyiah, Jarianna (LaKeshia), and Ke'Auri; parents, Rosetta (Fred) Harden; brother, Michael (Tamika) Martin; sister, Teresa Bonner; uncles, James (Vera) Shepherd, Clarence Shepherd all of Chattanooga, and Eddie (Kathi) Martin of New York; aunts, Nora Shepherd, Louise Davenport, Shirley Miller all of Chattanooga, and devoted, Auntie Wanda Clanton of Nashville; niece, Nyiemah Martin; nephews, Ira Hinton and Zion Martin; great-nephew, Amar'e Hinton; devoted god-daughter, LaTonya Rucker; god-sons, Jamel Gillespie, Demetris Ellison, and Derrick Roberson, Jr.; devoted friends, Quintana (Lebron) Lackey, Reginald (LeShun) Garrett, and Tyrone Parks; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service is today at Noon in the chapel with Pastor Timothy Careathers as the eulogist. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.
