Laura Turner

Laura Anna Turner, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in a local healthcare facility. She was formerly employed by Health Center @ Standifer Place and member of Union Grove M.B. Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff J. Turner; parents, Matthew and Lonnie Wilkins; ex-husband, Claude Barby; sisters, Lona Beavers, Gloria Wilkins, Patricia Bailey, and Rosetta Clay; niece, Terry Beavers; nephews, Matthew Wilkins, III, David Garth, Jr., and Willis Halfacre, Jr.; brother-in-law, Tommy White; stepfather, Thomas Tyrs. Survivors include daughter, Angela Barby; sons, Matthew Barby and Anthony Kendricks; adopted son, Shannon Bramlett; sisters, Sylvia Halfacre and Betty Jones; brother, Matthew Wilkins, Jr.; grandchildren, LaKiesha Smartt, Jamie Turner, James Turner, Jocelyn Barby, and Joshua Barby; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. The body will lie-in-state today after 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Sandra Bramlett as the eulogist. Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
