Janet Myers

Janet C. Myers passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013. She was born April 13, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio, but was a longtime resident of Chattanooga. She was very active in Burks United Methodist Church in Hixson; she has been choir director, Hand Bell director and Choir Member, plus playing her accordion and organ for many services. She also played her accordion in the Chattanooga Orchestra and for many private affairs. She started her banking career in Oberlin, Ohio, and continued that here as head teller when she retired from Suntrust after 28 years. Survivors include her husband, Alvin; daughter, Nancy Mills; son, Jeff; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters in Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burks United Methodist Church, Music Department. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Rev. Amy Nutt officiating. Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences.
