William Shelton Jr.

William E. Shelton Jr., 63, died peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2013, at Memorial Hospital. Born in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., to Col. William E. Shelton Sr. and Juanita D. Shelton (both deceased), he spent his younger years growing up on Air Force bases around the world. He attended the University of Tennessee and is a long time resident of Chattanooga. He is survived by his two daughters, Kelly (Randall) Wilson and Katie (Michael) Young; and his two brothers, Steve and Tom. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Lauren Craig, Brandon Wilson, M J Young and McKenzie Young. The family will receive friends for a casual celebration of his life from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, at the home of Michael and Katie Young (725 Sunset Mountain Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
