Lois Longley

Lois Longley Lois Longley, 91, of Apison, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 in a local healthcare facility. She was born April 28, 1922 in Middleburg, South Africa to missionary parents, and was a 1940 Central High School graduate. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Apison Baptist Church for 68 years and served as church clerk for several years and church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Iva MacDonald; sisters, May Garrett, Mary McCardell and Iva Collins; brothers, Dan and Allan MacDonald, and one great granddaughter, Nora Katherine Simpson. Survivors are daughter, Virginia (Lavon) Simpson, Ooltewah; two grandsons, Brian (Kelly) Simpson, Ringgold, Ga.; Tim (Jessica) Simpson, Nashville, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Briley and Brett Simpson, Ringgold, Ga.; sister, Grace McNabb, Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 24, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leroy Spinks officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
