Duaine Long

Duaine Long, 64, of Ooltewah, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.He was born in Chattanooga on July 14, 1948 and graduated from East Ridge High School. He later received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and his MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.Duaine was retired from the state of Tennessee where he was an emploment assessor team member for the Volkswagen faciltiy. Previously he was the human resource director of Siskin hospital.He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church where he served as an usher and taught, along side of his wife, the Single Parents Class. He was also a past president of the Pastoral Care organization in the Chattanooga area.Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Yvonne Long; five daughters, Angie (Mark) Wilkins, Stefanie Long, all of Rossville, Melanie Long, of Fort Oglethorpe, Mistie (Michael) Clements, of Birchwood, Tenn., Natalie (Jeremy) Moore, of Fort Oglethorpe; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Nick (Jerri) Long; sister, Kim (Tim) Samples, all of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Silverdale Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating.Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South, with Kit Smith, Eddie Rawlston, Gil Moon, Raymond Kendrick, Jeff Dean and Rev. Chuck Patrick serving as pallbearers.
