Pat Whitman

Sr.Pat H. Whitman Sr., 64, of East Ridge, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.Mr. Whitman was born in Black Oak, Ark., and raised in St. Louis County, Missouri. He was a member of OLPH Catholic Church and was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years, as a staff sergeant serving in Granada and Desert Storm.Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Diane Whitman; children, Michelle (Tyron) Mullinix, of Spanaway, Wash., Sandra Whitman, of East Ridge and Patrick (Laninie) Whitman Jr., of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Cindi, Kyle, Adina, Tyler, Kerrie Ann, Mitchell, Cory, Nicholas and Mary; great-grandchildren, Carli and Raven; brothers, John, Jerry, Terry, Rodney and Paul Whitman; sister, Mary Ann; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his son, John Joseph Whitman and parents, John and Thelma Whitman.Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating.Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 519 E.
