Annie McDowell

Annie Ruth McDowell, 87, of Ooltewah, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012. A native of Meigs County, she has been a resident of the Ooltewah area for the past 71 years, and was a member of the Morris Hill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Icye Lawson and was also preceded in death by her son, Michael David McDowell and two brothers and a sister. Survivors include her husband of 71 years Cecil D. McDowell; four daughters, Louise (David) Young, Martha (Bob) Arrieta, Rita (Johnny) Ramsey and Betty Shell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Cantrell, Rockmart, Ga. Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday, Jan. 3, in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Bill Mason and the Rev. Ronald McDowell officiating. Interment will be in Johnston Cemetery in Meigs County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnston Cemetery Association.
