Willie Bethune

HIGDON Willie Gilbreath Bethune-Price, 89, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 in a local health care facility.She was born in Fort Payne, Ala., on May 3, 1923 to the late William and Ellen Gilbreath and spent many years in Dade County, Bryant and Higdon communities of Sand Mountain. She was a member of the Mountain View Church of God and was employed for many years at Nation Hosiery Mill and Brock Candy Company. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husbands, J. B. Bethune and James Price; daughter, Sue Reeves; grandsons, David Reeves and Jordan Bethune, and seven brothers and sisters.Survivors include her children, Donald (Evelyn) Bethune, of Ringgold, Faye (Charles) Buchanan, of Higdon, Ala., Terry (Diane) Bethune, of Fort Oglethorpe, Deana (Darryl) Smith, of Ooltewah, Gary (Connie) Bethune, of Chattanooga, Deborah (Rick) Lyons, of Chattanooga, and Ronald (Pam) Bethune, of Fort Oglethorpe; son-in-law, Douglas Reeves, of Trenton, Ga.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Brad Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
