Fred Scott

Fred Sterling Scott, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in the Hospice Care Center.He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a faithful member of East Third Street Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Scott; and brother, Joseph King.Survivors include his sons, Fred Sterling Carr, of Laurel, Md., and Corey Navelle Scott, of Chattanooga; daughter, Sterla (Robert Manghane) Scott, of Chattanooga; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Tommie Sue Green, of Baton Rouge, La.; uncle, Robert Thacker, of Idaho; aunt, Jessie Mae Igou, of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.The body will lie-in-state at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Taylor Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brother John R. Taylor Sr. as the eulogist.
