James White

COHUTTA, Ga. James Edward (Jim) White, 65, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Knox and Ruby White, of Apison; and sister Delores Hullander also of Apison. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family and showed his love for them in actions and words daily. He was an active member and bass guitarist at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Cohutta. Jim is survived by his wife, Gayla Coe White; one son Christopher Brown and his wife Caysee Brown; two granddaughters, Mary Opal Brown and Krisa Haley Brown, all of Cohutta; one brother, Robert White and his wife Wendy White, of Apison; One brother-in-law, Rev. Gladden Coe and wife Joy Coe; mother-in-law Opal Coe all of Cohutta; Mary Powell, the mother of his grandchildren; Nieces and nephews also survived. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. White will be held today at 3 p.m. at the South Cohutta Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Fincher, Rev. Ed Killian and Rev. Larry Morgan officiating.The body will lie in state one hour before the funeral service. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Bobby Dollar, Terry Defore, Rev. Adam Warren, Coy Bates, Brent Rigsby and Samuel White.
