Eugene Grimmett

Thomas Eugene Grimmett, 78, of Chattanooga, went home to Heaven on Monday evening, Jan. 7, 2013.Eugene, for many years was a Deacon at Highland Park Baptist Church after graduating from Tennessee Temple in 1961, He is currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank for 25 years. Eugene retired from Consolidated Freightway after 32 years.He was preceded in death by his parents.Eugene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Grimmett, of Chattanooga; two sons, Danny Grimmett, of Chattanooga, and Michael Grimmett, of Hermitage, Tenn.; sister, Betty Rutherford, of Carlinville, Ill.; nephew Phillip Clark, of Macomb, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North ChapelFuneral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2012, in the funeral home chapel.Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens.
