ROSSVILLE Mary Ruth Gooch Barnes, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo and loved flowers and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Florence Boss; her 1st husband, William Kendrick; second husband, James Guy Gooch; last husband, Robert "Bob" Barnes; daughter, Billie Sandra Coppinger; stepson, Lamar Barnes; and two sisters, Ara Ellis and Thelma Swanson. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Howard (Cliff), of Rossville, and Judy Jackson Allison (Jesse), of Chickamauga, Ga.; son, James Leon Gooch, of Rossville; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. John Underwood, Dr. Warren Moorhead and Rev. Jackie Swanson officiating.
