James Harris

Jorge HarrisJames A. "Jorge" Harris, 73, a lifelong resident of the Ooltewah and Apison area passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in a local hospital. Jorge was born on June 6, 1939 a son of the late James and Bessie Harris. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Calvary Life Fellowship. Jorge was an awesome musician and a member of the Freedom Gospel Group. He loved baseball and an avid fan and supporter of the Atlanta Braves. He loved to preach and teach the Gospel to anyone who would listen. Jorge will forever be remembered for being a wonderful, loving, husband and brother.In addition to his parents, Jorge is preceded in death by one son, Dennis Keith; one sister, Edna Faye Jackson; and one brother, J.L. Harris.Jorge leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of seventeen years, Margaret Pope Harris; four brothers, Doyle (Darlene) Harris, Gene (Marilyn) Harris, Ronald (Eva) Harris, and Larry (Diane) Harris, all of Ooltewah; one aunt, Thelma Wiggins, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Annette Nicholson, Janice Buckner, Pricsilla Wright and Eva Fuller; one stepson, Carl Buckner; five stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; and numerous other extended family members and friends.A memorial celebration of his life is planned at 2:30 p.m. for Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Calvary Life Fellowship located on Nation Road off Farmer Road in Ooltewah, with the Rev. Bob Willerson, and the Rev. Roger Roark officiating.
