Willie Burgess

Willie Mae Burgess, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 in a local hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Burgess; mother, Elzora Hawkins; son, Darrell D. Talley; and granddaughter, A'Miracle Burgess.She was a longtime member of New Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Arlease Foy, of Peachtree City, Ga.; sons, James Burgess, of Chattanooga and Robert (Sherry) Burgess, of Rossville, Ga.; granddaughters, Carmia (Billy) Summerrow, Jasmine Burgess, Machalay Burks and Sheneeyah Burgess; grandsons, Darrell Burgess, John (LaTasha) Foy, Terrance Talley, Payton, Robert, Jr., and Brandon Burgess; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is today from 7-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at United Tabernacle Church of God in Christ with Elder Ronnie Powe, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
