LAFAYETTE, Ga. Billie Stephenson Colston Hudson, formerly of East Brainerd, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. She was born in Hamilton County on Aug. 23, 1923; Billie was the daughter of the late Fred Dow and Ruth Stephenson Colston.She was preceded in death by her husband or more than 67 years, Dr. T. Parks Hudson, in July of 2012.Billie was a 1941 graduate of Central High School in Chattanooga. She attended UTC and was a member of PHIMU Sorority. Billie was retired from TVA where she was a chemist for 40 years. She was an active member of Frawley Road Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Billie was a member of Chapter No. 359 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a Past Matron and served as treasurer for 25 years. She was a Grand Representative to Alabama for three years. She was Past High Priestess of Asebi Court No. 36 Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America and a member of the Daughters of the Nile.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Billie Ruth and Kenneth Beebe; her sister, Avice Colston Downey; her niece, Susan D. Williams; her grandson, Chris A. Harris; other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; extended family members, Faron, Anita, and Kylee Schrader, Brenda Smith, the staff of Home Instead, and the staff of Avalon Hospice. For memorials, the family suggests Frawley Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 510 Frawley Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37412.The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 18, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road. Committal services will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Billy Dean will officiate. Pallbearers are Fred J. Oliver, Emory Morris, Vance Boone, Bob Hope, Daryl Isham, and Don Holman. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Sunnyside Chapter OES No. 359 and Asebi Court Ladies of the Oriental Shrine.The family will receive friends today,from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Friends may sign the online guest register at www.heritagefh.com.
