Charlie Johnson

Charlie Johnson, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at his residence. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Johnson; mother, Nellie Nance Thompson; brothers, Tillman, Freddie, and Charles Thompson; sister, Minnie Bea Thompson. Survivors include his son, Steve Scott; daughter, Barbara Jean Goodwin, both of Chattanooga; one granddaughter; brothers, George (Shirley) Thompson, Arthur (Vanessa) Thompson, Sr. both of Chattanooga, James (Clara) Thompson of Moulton, Ala., Ezell (Cindy) Thompson, of Geneso, Ill., Percell (Annie) Thompson, of Courtland, Ala., and Robert (Sadie) Johnson of Louisville, Ky.; sisters, Matilda Boyd, Rosa Boyd, both of Courtland, Ala., and Lucille Thompson, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be today from 7-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Wayne L. Johnson as the eulogist. Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
