Leland Aslinger

Leland Eugene Aslinger, 86, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.He was born on Oct. 28, 1926, the son of Minnie and Gordon Aslinger. Leland was a graduate of Sale Creek High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Combustion Engineering and the W.R. Grace and Co. He was a member of Soddy United Methodist Church.Leland was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mavis Salmon and Sylvia Hodge; and brothers, Raymond, Drewie and J.C. Aslinger.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Roberts Aslinger; sisters, Violet Carpenter and Vivian Haynes; nephew, Glenn M. Crawley and several nieces and nephews.Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan.26, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Dewayne Renfro officiating.Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers.
