Mike Silvers

Mike V. Silvers, 90, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was an Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 175. Mike worked at Terrell Electric for 35 years. He was an avid ham radio operator AF4IZ.He was preceded in death by his parents Nora Lee and Charles T. Silvers; two brothers; two sisters; and a daughter Donna Silvers Vipond.Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty Varnell Slivers; daughter Sharon Shafer; son Jeff (Vickie) Silvers; son-in-law Bobby Vipond; grandchildren Angie (Chris) Barnes, Delisa Campbell, Christie Cramer and Matt (Jessica) Silvers; eight great grandchildren; brothers Paul (Betty) Silvers, Jimmy (Faye) Silvers and Gerald (Doris) Silvers; and sister June.Graveside services will 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 2, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home today from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chatanoogavalleyview chapel.com.
