Bettye Ingle

Bettye J. Ingle, 89, of Chattanooga, departed this life Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 6, 1924 in Chattanooga. She was the first of two children, born to the late Charlie and Pearl Clements Epperson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Thomas Epperson (Tommy Charles stage name); brother-in-law George K. Harrison, Sr. and her husband of 61 years, J. Harold Ingle. She was employed by Valley Optical and A&M Optical where she retired in 2004. She was a lifetime member Manker Memorial Methodist Church and the St. John United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Christian Homebuilders Sunday School Class. Survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, Edward A. (Catch) Ingle and Andrea (Wayne) Berry and Bettye Harrison all of Chattanooga; two nephews and eight nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday July 8, in the Valley View Chapel, with the Rev. Ken LaDuke and the Rev. Dallas Beck officiating.Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The St. John United Methodist Church, 3921 Murray Hills Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416 or to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4011 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Monday before the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.
