David Michael

David Michael Rogers, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away July 2, 2013, at Memorial Hospital with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Mt. Clemens near Detroit, Mich., and his youth was spent in Middle Valley and East Ridge. He was a 1964 graduate of East Ridge High School and was further educated at Georgia Tech and the University of Paris. In his adult life he resided in Tangiers, Morocco, Paris, France, and Atlanta. David Michael lived with a spiritual awareness and reverence for the miracles of life and all of the beauties it held. May God be with his precious soul.He was preceded in death by his father, David Bunyan Rogers; and mother, Violet Anita Crabtree Rogers.Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Jacquelyn Spratlin Rogers; half sister, Joyce Rogers Salansky and her husband Ralph, of Naples, Fla.; two nieces; numerous cousins; and close and dear friends.Condolences may be sent to lane-southcrestchapel.com.Memorial service will be held noon Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Idlewild Baptist Church, 118 County Road 104, Athens, TN 37303.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Idlewild Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
