Donald Rose

CLEVELAND Donald Leslie Rose, 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the family residence.He was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church for over 70 years where he was also a Sunday school teacher and taught in the R.A. He was retired from Bowater after over 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army and also served in the National Guard and Civil Defense.Mr. Rose was the son of the late Leslie Rose and Nell Bennett Rose and was also preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Rose.Survivors include his wife, Cora Lee Belcher Rose, of Cleveland; three children, Rev. Linda Bray and husband, Richard of Nashville, Diann Davidson and husband, Mark, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mark Rose, of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Stacey Bray, Lindsey Bray, both of Nashville, Bret, Drew and Evan Davidson, of Indianapolis, Ind., Shelby Rose and Levi Rose, both of Cleveland; one sister, Joy Harden, of Charleston, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews also survive; also survived by Deborah Black, Mike Black, Matthew Black and Nichole Black.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Bray, Rev. Joe Brooks and Rev. Nolan Phillips officiating.Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardenswith military honors. Mark Rose, Mark Davidson, Mike Black, Drew Davidson, Bret Davidson and Mickey Torbett will serve as pallbearers.
