Betty Ellis

ROSSVILLE Betty B. Ellis, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at her residence.She was a native of Annadel, Tenn., but had lived in the Rossville area the greater part of her life. At the time of her passing, Mrs. Ellis was the longest surviving member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of the Nazarene and was a member and pianist at Dry Valley Baptist Church for several years.She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Bascom "Frank" Ellis; son, Dennis Ellis; and eleven brothers and sisters.Left to cherish her memory are her children, David and Jo Ellis, of the Fairview community, Janet Newlon, of Rossville and Karen Denton, of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the South Crest Chapel with Minister Jack James, the Rev. Dwight Deal and the Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Robert Ellis, Bryan Cook, Daniel Morton, Mitch McCary, Scott Davis and Red Ayala serving as pallbearers.
