Evelyn Swaggerty

ROSSVILLE Evelyn E. LeCroy Swaggerty, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 9, 2013.She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Rossville area, was on original member of Fort Oglethorpe Church of God, and was currently a member of the Christian Worship Center where she had been very active as a youth leader and sang in a trio. She worked in the 1970s in the Walker and Catoosa School System and also worked as a nutritionist at Erlanger Hospital. Her passions in life were God, her husband, family, church, cooking, and taking care of others with her loving and giving heart.She was preceded in death by her children, Doyle Swaggerty and Rev. Glenn Swaggerty; parents, Walter, and Sallie LeCroy; brothers, James and Fred LeCroy; sister, Pauline Peters; and grandson, Michael Swaggerty.Survivors include her husband of nearly 76 years, Henry Swaggerty; four children, Rev. Harold (Rebecca) Swaggerty, of Rossville, Mickey (Mary Katherine) Swaggerty, of Mesquite, Texas, Linda (Allen) Kaylor, of Trinity, Ala., and Sharon (Kenneth) Whitmire, of Rossville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Condolences may be sent to lane-southcrestchapel.com.Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Steve Swaggerty and Rev. Carroll Allen officiating.Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
