Leon Shipley

Leamon Leon Shipley, 69, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away to his heavenly home Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.Leon was an employee of the city of Soddy-Daisy for 32 years prior to his retirement in 2007. Leon enjoyed hunting, being with his family, and going to the flea market. He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Pearl Shipley; siblings, Harold "Baldy" Shipley, Sam Shipley, William "Bill" Shipley, Henry "Red" Shipley and Charlie Shipley.He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Iva Shipley; children, Leona (Louis) White, Doug (Teri) Shipley; sisters, Patsy (Jerry) Bowman, Peggy Swearengin, Wanda (Frankie) Culver; brother, David (Dot) Shipley; grandchildren, Candace White, Adam White, Brittany (Zach) Hardy and Steven Shipley; great-grandchild, Kate White.Services will be held noon Saturday, July 13, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dana Gravett officiating.The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Miller, Dr. B.
