Lawrence Boydston

Jr.Lawrence W. "Buddy" Boydston Jr. passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his home in Lookout Valley, following a lengthy illness.A lifelong resident of Lookout Valley, Mr. Boydston was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from TVA after 27 years as a heavy equipment operator and from the city of Chattanooga, Department of Public Works also as a heavy equipment operator after 10 years.Mr. Boydston was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence W. and Ruth Boydston Sr.; sister, Gwendolyn Carroll; brother, Robert Boydston.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice B. Boydston; daughter, Stacy Lynn Boydston; son, William Clay (Christina) Boydston; two grandchildren, Melissa Elizabeth (Stewart) Parris, Trenton Ga., and Cody Matthew Boydston, Monroe, Ga.; great-grandson, Hudson Eli Parris; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; several nieces, nephews and his most cherished companion, his dog, Harley.Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Frank Ramseur officiating.Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals) or Hospice of Chattanooga.The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care, compassion, support and love they have provided Buddy and his family through these difficult times. They would also like to thank Dr. Mark Heinsohn and his staff for their years of dedication and exceptional care.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
