Barbara Tiano

Barbara A. Tiano, 88, of Chattanooga, passed peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013 at her residence with family members by her side.Barbara was born on Feb. 5, 1925 in Clarksburg, W.Va. She was the first of six children born to John and Mary Feeney. Upon graduation, she worked as a telephone operator and soon thereafter married her childhood sweetheart and together they found their way to Chattanooga.Barbara was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who spent her life raising her children and caring for her family. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Felix E. Tiano; daughter, Mary Kathryn Tiano; brother, Jack Feeney and sisters, Phyllis Mossor, Delores Brown and Maureen Feeney. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Feeney-Jones, of Fort Washington, Md.; sons, Joseph Tiano and wife, Beverly, of Chattanooga, Felix Steven Tiano and wife, Kimberly (Jacob and Kennedy Fravel), of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsy, Felix Adam and Alexandra Tiano, all of Chattanooga and Felix Jackson Tiano, of Panama City, Fla.Services for Barbara will be today, July 23, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church followed by a funeral mass and reception at the Parish Life Center.A private burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made in Barbaras name to Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation, P.O.
