Gene Brown

Joseph Eugene "Downtown" Brown, 70, of Chattanooga died Saturday, July 27, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer.He was born May 28, 1943 to the late Eugene Ziegler Brown and Lou Ella Rynes Brown. Mr. Brown was a loyal and kindhearted friend. His hobby was buying and selling cars, more for enjoyment, rather than profit. He was a member of East Ridge United Methodist Church and was also a mason. He graduated East Ridge High School in 1962.Survivors include his son Bryan (Marcia) Brown; daughter Anna (Matthew) Millard; grandchildren Rebecca Brown and Joanna Brown; companion Mary Katherine Mansfield; family and friends too many to name.Graveside services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel 404 S.
