Barbara Chambers

ROSSVILLE Barbara Elizabeth Chambers, 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 10, 2013. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She retired from Kleen-A-Matic Rental Uniforms in 2004 after more than 30 years of service as a seamstress. She enjoyed collecting dolls and adored her cats and dogs. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.She was preceded in death by her parents, John Leonard and Grace Gordy; husband, Donald Chambers; son, Christopher Chambers; two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her children, Kathy (Alan) Arnold, of Chickamauga, Ga., Linda Bailey and Barry Chambers, both of Rossville; brother, Cecil Gordy, of California; sister, Mildred Cross, of Fort Oglethorpe; granddaughter, Jennifer (Josh) Chuma; and great-grandson, Michael Chuma; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Ernest Groce officiating.Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
