David Estes

Jr.David A. Estes Jr., 75, of Apison, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 10, 2013 after battling Parkinsons for months.He was born in Rossville on Aug. 3, 1938. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1957 and attended UTC. He was a manager at Sherwin-Williams for over 20 years and worked at Bi-Lo for 10 years, then became a cattleman working at the Chattanooga Stockyards, directed music at Antioch Baptist in Apison, Fairview Baptist in Ooltewah, Philadelphia Baptist in Chattanooga and Crossroads Baptist in Ooltewah where he is a member.He was predeceased by his father, David A. Estes Sr.Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 40 years, Mary K. Estes; mother, Aline Estes, of Ooltewah; sons, David A. (Debbie) Estes III, of Soddy-Daisy and Tommy (Jackie) Estes, of Ooltewah; sisters, Diane (Roy) Lynn, of Ooltewah, Shirley (Kyle) Gravitt, of Ringgold and Judy (Larry) James, of Chattanooga; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; Marys children, Frank (Denise) Reed, Bobby (Pam) Reed and Cheryl (Bill) Ridge; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 14, in Crossroads Baptist Church, 9122 Ooltewah-Georgetown Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363. The Rev. Mike Steele will conduct the service at 11 a.m. in the church.Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O.
