IIIPercy "Jap" Allen III, 65, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in a local hospital. He retired from Wheland Foundry and was a member of Nazarene Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his son, Sedrick Allen; mother, Henrietta Douglas; father, Percy Allen Jr.; sisters, Marion Douglas, Willie Ruth Douglas, and Sandra Powell; brothers, Jerry Allen and Sonny Ashley.Survivors include his devoted wife, Lizzie Allen; daughters, Drusilla Allen, Cynthia Smartt, and Gail (Robert) Ford; son, Percy Allen IV; stepson, Kenneth Kelley, all of Chattanooga; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Mary) Phillips, of Atlanta, Percy Stoudemire, Raulston Allen, Carlton (Delores) Allen, Charles Stoudemire and Calvin (Patricia) Stoudemire, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Shirley Fairbanks, of Chattanooga, Joyce McClain, of Detroit, Mich., Loretta Nash, Brenda (Herbert) Dallas, Linda Bonner and Barbara Allen, all of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Catherine) Chappell, J.C. Kelley and Johnny (Jeanette) Kelley; sister-in-law, Irene Allen; uncle, Jimmy (Linda) Allen; aunt, Willena Samples, of Nashville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel with Pastor Maurice Gilchrist as the eulogist.Burial: Forest Hills Cemetery.Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.
