Bill Robinson

William A. "Bill" Robinson 86, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 in a local hospital.He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. Bill was a retired Captain from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, he also had the distinction of being the first Chief of the East Ridge Police Department when it was founded. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. After retiring from the Sheriff's office he worked for Heritage Funeral Home. Bill was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents Erskine E. and Kathryn Courtney Robinson; sister Vanatta Robinson Herrin.He is survived by his wife Ava Lyons Robinson; son, David E. "Skip" (Connie H.) Robinson; his beloved grandson, William Marshall Robinson; brother-in law, Lawrence Herrin; nieces and nephews, along with many cherished friends.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David McNabb and Captain Charles Lowery officiating.
