John Parker

ROSSVILLE John Douglas Parker, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at his residence. He had been a resident of North Georgia for the past 41 years.Mr. Parker was a member of Ridgeview Church in Ringgold. He was retired from the U.S. Army and Reserves after 35 years of service at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He was retired from Crane Company in Chattanooga, TN with 27 years of service. Mr. Parker was a member of the American Legion Post #214.He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Parker and Gladys Morton and daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Parker.Survivors are his loving wife of 55 years, Norma Parker; son, John Ray (Diane) Parker, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth (Brad) Horne and Zachary John (Jessica) Parker; great-grandchildren, Braden James Horne, Alice Elizabeth Horne, Marley Gray Parker and Liam Everton Parker.Funeral service will be Noon Monday July 1, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph Reed officiating. Interment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with U.S. Military serving as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to Ridgeview Church, P.O.
