JASPER Bertha Jean Norton Roberts, 77, passed away, Saturday, March 2, 2013."Granny Bert" was a retired employee of Rivermont Nursing Home and South Pittsburg Hospital. She was member of Baptist Hill Baptist Church. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hoyt Roberts; parents, Stokley and Flora Wiley Norton; and brothers, Joe, Clyde and Ed Norton.Survivors include her daughters, Brenda "B.J." (Marty) Mercia , of Jasper, Kathy (Jack) Womack, of Sequatchie, and Nancy Hargis, of Jasper; son, Lester (Joey) Roberts, of Jasper; her beloved cat, Snowball; sister, Edith Hatfield, of Jasper; brother, Fred Norton, of Jasper; grandchildren, Robert (Kristie) Tuders ,David (Renee) Tuders, , Crystal (Jason) Nugent , Holly (Zach) Warren and Matt Merica; great-grandchildren, Jade Merica, Dakota and Dagan Tuders, Lillie, Orion and Zane Lewis, Haley and Cassie Nugent, and Isaac Warren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel, at 2 p.m. CST , Tuesday, March 5, with Bro.
