Frances Jackson

Frances K. Jackson, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013.Mrs. Jackson was born in Washington, D.C., to Thomas and Ida Mae Kelly. After graduating high school in Oregon and living briefly in Los Angeles, she moved to Chattanooga where she met her husband of 62 years, Frank Jackson, who was the founder of Jackson Bakery, which he started in 1973. Since 1948, she was a faithful communicant of OLPH Church and a loving, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Going Home before her were her sons Frankie and Christopher. Surviving are her sons Peter, David, Pat, Dennis, Larry, John and Anthony "Bud" and their wives; and 19 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was the faithful caregiver for her son, Frankie, for 33 years.After raising nine sons, she sponsored dozens of children throughout the world, and volunteered her services at Room in the Inn and in Hispanic outreach ministry for many years.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the funeral home.A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at OLPH Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating.Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, especially Sara, for the love and care that were shown to their mother.Memorial contributions may be made to Ladies of Charity or Hospice of Chattanooga.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
