Joseph Powderly

FLINTSTONE Joseph Jerome "Papa Joe" Powderly, 68, formerly of East Ridge, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in a local hospital.Mr. Powderly was a graduate of East Ridge High School and received his B.S. degree from Tennessee Tech University. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was employed with various companies as a Human Resource Director. He retired as C.E.O. from Millenium Technologies and was an avid tennis enthusiast. Survivors include his brother, Robert Powderly, of Chattanooga; sister, Wanda Addison, of East Ridge; nephew, James (E.J.) Powderly, Seoul, Korea; grand-niece, Ada Son Powderly; longtime companion, Judy Brown, of Flintstone; his "buddy" Kameron Jackson.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Oliver officiating.
