Rev Howard

Rev. Howard Micheal "Corky" Taylor Sr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2013.He was called to preach in 1967 and was pastor of his first church, Hillcrest Baptist Church in 1969. He also was pastor of several churches over more than 35 years. He was a member of the teamsters local 515, and was a Truck Driver for Central Motors for several years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.Rev. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, Howard M. Taylor Jr.Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Edna H. Taylor; one son, Ronald Taylor, of Chattanooga; daughters, Judy Parton, of Chattanooga, Teresa Burch, of Chattanooga, Marilyn (John) Tilley, of Rossville; brother, Chester D. Stephens, of Palmer, Alaska; sisters, Grace Loretta Taylor, of Birchwood, Mildred Payne, of Ooltewah, Carol Smith, of Chattanooga and Nellie Burr, of Cheboygan, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Fowler and Rev.
