Wilbur Tigner

Elder Wilbur Tigner, 82, departed this life on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at a local hospital surrounded by wife, family and loving church members.He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served 4 years. After being employed at Mueller Co. for over 10 years, by faith, he started a successful business, Tigner Wrecking Co.He was the pastor of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.Elder Tigner was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Tigner and Missionary Luzolia Tigner; son, Gregory Arnez Tigner; sister, Mable Robinson and brother, Hubert Kidd.He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 58 years, Mary Lloyd Tigner; children, Leonard Maurice Tigner, Muriel (Dewayne) Brown, Kitty (James) Favors; grandchildren, Corey (Tiffany) Prather and Ashlyn Prather; one beautiful great-grandbaby, whom was his heart, Rilee Madiison Young; sister-in-law, Betty Lloyd; a host of nieces and nephews who loved and respected him dearly.Special thanks to Lyerly Dialysis Clinic and Memorial Hospital for their care.Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at New Anointing Pure Holiness Church of God.Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.The body will lie in state at the funeral home from noon until 4 p.m. today.
