LaFAYETTE Martha Lanier Thompson moved to Heaven on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.She was a member of Second Baptist Church of LaFayette and employed at Roper for many years.Preceded in death by parents, Wilford and Ruth Lanier; sister, Ann Gamble; and brother, Carl Lanier.Survivors: loving husband, Charles Thompson, LaFayette; daughter, Delaine (Charles) Townsend, Cleveland; brother, Richard Lanier, LaFayette; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral at 4 p.m. Saturday at Wallis Memorial Chapel. Service conducted by Rev. Mike Peterson.Pallbearers are Chris Daniels, James Davis, Steve Lively, Bryan Croft, Brandon Croft and Wayne Russell.Honorary pallbearer: Jathan Harding.Interment: LaFayette Cemetery.Visitation 6-8 p.m. today at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home.
