Beulah Vassar

Beulah Mae Vassar, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, in a local hospital.She retired from Erlanger Hospital as an L.P.N. after 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church and was a member of the Missionary Society. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and also the Widows Harvest Ministry.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Vassar; son, Espisito McClarty; sister, Louise Williams; and parents.Survivors include three sons, Bobby Lee (Faye) McClarty, Rev. Judge John McClarty; and Thomas (Susie) McClarty; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Usher Thomas Jackson Jr., of Hazelcrest, Ill., and Irvin Jackson, of Chattanooga; sister, Mattie L. King of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Jennie V. Coats; several nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.Visitation is today from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Rev. Kenneth Love as the eulogist.Burial: Forest Hills Cemetery.
