Mildred Lawrence

Mildred "Millie" Lawrence, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, May 17, 2013, at a local healthcare facility.She was a lifelong residence of Chattanooga, and was of the christian faith. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was happiest doing things for her family. She was a home maker most of her life, however she helped her late husband, Willard Lawrence run several businesss from the 1950s to the 1970s, along with raising three children. She was a hard worker and an outstanding cook who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her yard, dancing at the Eagles Club, but mainly spending time with her family. She was a past member of Eagles Fraternal order and VFW, she was a present member of Allemande Hall.She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Lawrence; daughter, Patti Lawrence; her parents, Henry and Ruby Brannan; step-mother, Mabel Brannan; brother, Vernon Brannan; and sister, Mary Brannan.She is survived by her sons, Van Lawrence, Chattanooga; Eddie (Janet) Lawrence, East Ridge; grandchildren, Kellie (Glen) Henderson, Kristy (Lee) Helton, and Patrick Lawrence, all of Chattanooga; Marshall Lawrence, Chickamauga; and Paul Jordan, Ringgold; great-grandchildren, Lynna and Lillie Helton, Adlea Lawrence, and Amanda and Alicia Henderson; sisters, Jo Ann Owens, Louise Daniel; brother, Buddy Brannan, all of Rossville; sister-in-law, Irma (Walter) Stephenson, Rossville; and Florence Lawrence, East Ridge; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.The Lawrence family extends special thanks to the staff at Martin Boyd Christian Home, Standifer Place and Hospice of Chattanooga, where our mother received excellent care for the last 3 1/2 years.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family and view the memorial tribute.The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
