Woody Barbour

Jr.Woodford "Woody" F. Barbour Jr., 67, of Red Bank, Tenn., went to heaven on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.After an eight-year battle with cancer, his wish to be at home with his wife holding his hand was fulfilled. Woody was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian Church; served in the U.S. Navy; sold land shares in New Orleans; was a taxi cab owner in Washington, D.C.; drove a big rig for First Thermal; worked the Alaskan Pipe Line; did residential and commercial construction; was in car sales for Budget and Hunt Nissan; and was an insurance agent for American Advantage Inc.He was predeceased by his mother and father, Woodford and Elsie Barbour; daughter, Jackie; and near-brother, Gary Lee Cann.He is survived by his wife, Gina Hembree-Barbour; son, Woodford Barbour II, of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Laura Paty, of Pensacola, Fla.; son, Joshua Barbour, of California; daughter and spouse, Staci and Bobby McGowan, of Powder Springs, Ga.; grandchildren, Levi, Kyleigh and Kyle Barbour and Anthony, Eddie and Gage Paty and Matthew McGowan; sisters and spouses, Connie and Bill Yew, of Woodstock, Va., and Sherrie and Tim Pogar, of Charlotte Hall, Md.; father-in-law, Gerald C. Wilson, brother-in-law and spouse, Jerrol and Rebecca Wilson; near-sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie Cann Brown and Matt Brown; and several beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and cherished friends.A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524, from 4-6 p.m. with the Rev.
