John Burnette

John A. Burnette, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013. Born to the late Estell Dee and Bertie Lewis Burnette, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. John A. attended the Jasper Seventh-day Adventist Church and worked for many years as a route salesman for Frito-Lay. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Bea Moody Burnette; brothers, Estell D. Burnette Jr., and Leroy Kilgore; sisters, Louise Hastings, Kathryn Burnette, Carolyn Burnette and Bonnie Collins; and two infant children. Survivors include his daughters, Doris (Jim) Price, of Sequatchie, and Becky (Ronnie) Parker, of Jasper; grandchildren, Amanda (Jacob) Dawson, Nicholas Parker, Jamie (Shane) Thomasson and Jonathan Parker; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Stephens and Hazel Brown; brother, Frank Kilgore; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 1, 2013, with the Rev. Ronnie Case officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
